Carol A. Ford, of rural Greenfield, left behind the scars of pancreatic cancer and sped heavenward on March 3, 2024.
She was born to Thomas and Jeannette Ford in September, 1959. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don, and sister Susan.
She is survived by brothers David of Peoria, IL., Larry (Julie) of Lebanon, IL. and sister Margi of Roanoke, IL. Also surviving are three nephews, their spouses and children, four nieces, their spouses and children, and many cousins.
Carol graduated from Greenfield High School in 1977, Lewis and Clark College in 1979, Illinois State University in 1981, and added many extra certificates to advance her career. She worked as a graphic artist in the St. Louis area, 20 years as a security specialist for Argosy Casino in Alton, IL. Her most recent and enjoyable work was building F-15 jets for Boeing Corporation in St. Louis.
Although Carol loved farm life and nature, her sense of adventure led to trips to Europe, Australia, and most of the U.S. She was thrilled with the St. Louis Blues Stanley Cup championship as an avid fan and member of Blue Liners Club. Carol enjoyed many Greenfield-Northwestern Tiger football games. Kansas and Missouri were annual destinations for charity trap shoots.
A special thank you to Doug and Shirley Thorton, Carol’s Boeing co-workers, and countless supportive “BFFs” for their kindness, care, and love throughout her cancer journey.
