Sue Kuhnline Obituary

Sue Ann (Guthrie) Kuhnline 66 of Rockbridge passed away Tuesday January 2, 2019 at her home. She was born April 16, 1952 in Carrollton to Gerald and Irene (Lister) Guthrie. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1970 and was a member of Charity Southern Baptist Church, Greene County Days Committee, The Classic Iron Club, The Prairieland Heritage Museum and the Quilters Guild.

She married Carl Blake July 26, 1975 and together they had two children Tobi and Tyler, they later divorced and she married Edward Kuhnline on March 16, 1991 and he survives.

She worked for Capitol Records for five years before working at Cochran’s Auction, the Carrollton Sale Barn and the Woodson Livestock Auction.

She spent her early days milking her dairy cows, riding her horse and attending as many horse races that her Dad and Uncle would take her to. She spent her Wednesday’s clerking at the Carrollton Sale Barn and her Friday’s clerking at the Woodson Livestock Auction for many years. In her most recent years you would see her out and about selling ads for the Greene County Days books, selling her sweatshirts at local craft shows, Clerking Auctions for Mark Pennell, or at The Quilted Cow with her Quilting girls. She enjoyed working on her sweatshirts, spending time at the Quilted Cow especially her days that she could take Aubrey along with her, visiting with family and friends, taking her road trips with her Quilting Girls to the different fabric stores, going on bus trips, watching the rodeo on tv, babysitting her grandkids, watching any movies with John Wayne or Sam Elliott, and taking trips with Ed to Kansas to visit a longtime friend.

She is survived by a daughter, Tobi Miller (Michael Campbell) of Greenfield, a son, Tyler (Addi) Blake of Walkerville, step-children, Krista (Chris) Heavner, Kelly (Shannon) Brown and Kyle (Tia) Kuhnline all of Greenfield, sister, Sharon Patino of Greenfield, sister-in-law, Marilyn Guthrie of Springfield, grandchildren, Aubrey Garrison of Greenfield, Scarlett Blake of Walkerville, and step-grandchildren, Alexa and Laiken Heavner, Austin and Sophia Brown all of Greenfield, Liam Shaler of Port Saint Lucie, FL., Emmett Gilbert of Walkerville, and Konnor and Addison Campbell of Greenfield,

She was proceeded in death by her parents Gerald and Irene Guthrie, Brothers Lyndell and Robert (Bob) Guthrie and many close friends she had met over the years.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, from 3 until 7 pm at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield, where funeral services will be at 10:30 Monday, January 7. Cremation rites will follow services and a private family burial will take place at the Hickory Grove Cemetery at a later date.
