Amelia A. Burger, 88, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab. She was born June 16, 1937, in Hettick, IL. to Wilbur and Nema (Wade) Burger. She married Donald Wilson July 15, 1955, and they later divorced.
Surviving are her daughters, Debbie (Steve) Springman of Greenfield, Linda (Jeff) Dailey and Lois (Mike) Sibley, both of Hamburg, her son, Gary (Donna) Wilson of St. Charles, MO. her grandchildren, Joel (Terri) Rhodes, Mikayla (Josh) Hellrung, Tanner Wilson, Mariah Wilson, Jesse (Yuko) Sibley, Josh (Kendra) Sibley, Emily (Brad) Stuby, Travis (Selina) Dailey, Chris Sibley, Amy (Kevin) Jones, Danielle (Patrick) Gallaway, Katie Sibley, and Matthew (Caroline) Sibley, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Darrel Titus and Cpl. Jeremiah Costello, two sons-in-law, David Sibley and Larry Costello, her sisters, Janabelle Nix, Myrl Curtin and Audrey Burger, and her brothers, Earl Burger and Samuel Burger.
Amelia retired from the State of Illinois Secretary of State’s office, was an active member of the Greenfield Lions Club, sold Avon products, and enjoyed Tiger Football.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, October 2, at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield where visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service. Burial will follow at the Witt Cemetery in Rockbridge. Memorials are suggested to the Witt Cemetery. Please leave a condolence or memory at shields-bishopfh.com.
