Anna Mae Lane, 88, of Greenfield, was welcomed into her heavenly home early Sunday morning, August 7th. She was born February 28, 1934, to Henry F. and Ida Mae (Kelley) Stone in Carrollton. She married Jimmie Lane, December 29, 1954, in Athensville, and he preceded her in death, April 22, 1999.
Surviving are her children, Terry Jean, and Jerry Dean, both of Greenfield, grandchildren, J.D. (Heather) Lane of Armstrong, Tabitha (Scott) Barrow of Carrollton, and great-grandchildren, Brody and Heidi Lane, and Wyle, Dean, Jude, and Eliza Barrow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Francis Stone.
Anna Mae was a longtime member of the Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield, where she spent her time serving the Lord. She worked with the Meals on Wheels program, Food Pantry, served as the nursery director, a Sunday school teacher, and the Women’s Missionary Union. She organized many meals at the church, for the members, as well as many funeral luncheons. Her great-grandchildren were her biggest blessing. She loved to spend time with them and attended as many of their events as she could. They will miss her dearly. No one gave better hugs or could do a puzzle quite like her. She enjoyed being the host for family meals as well as groups she was part of. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was faithful to Him her whole life.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10th, from 4 until 7 pm at the Charity Southern Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 10:30 am Thursday, at the church. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to the Charity Southern Baptist Church. The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home is assisting the family.
