Anna L. (Meyer) Mansfield George, 88, of Greenfield, died Friday, December 14, 2018 at the White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born June 29, 1930 in Jacksonville to John and Alma (Francis) Meyer. She married Donald A. Mansfield, August 16, 1953, and he preceded her in death September 10, 1965. She then married Lloyd O. George, June 19, 1977, and he survives.
Also surviving are three sons, David (LuAnn) Mansfield of White Hall, Jon Mansfield of Lowden, IA, and Andy (Sally) Mansfield of White Hall, three step-sons, David (Julie) George of Greenfield, Dale George of Hannibal, MO. and Daniel (Carol) George of Bellevue, NE., eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a brother, J. Sam (Mary Alice) Meyer of Bluffton, SC., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Robert Meyer, and one grandson, Trevor George.
Anna was a 1951 graduate of the University of Illinois and taught Home Economics in the North Greene School system for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greenfield and the Roodhouse Chapter BU, PEO for 49 years.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 18, at the First Baptist Church north of Greenfield. Burial will follow at the White Hall Cemetery near White Hall. Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service. Memorials are suggested to the White Hall or Greenfield Libraries, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
