She then obtained a job with the Telephone Company where she worked for eleven years and advanced to become a supervisor. In late summer of 1964, she met Gerold Gene Jouett and after a brief courtship the two wed on October 10th of 1964. In the following four years they had their three children. Because Gerold’s job required a lot of travel, Antonia and Gerold lived in several different countries and numerous states as they raised their children.
After 38 years of traveling with Gerold’s job, they retired and returned to Fayette, Illinois to live in the home where Gerold was born. The two spent 26 more years in retirement together enjoying themselves with family and friends and doing a lot of traveling. In 2022 Gerold passed away and Antonia moved to Texas to live with her daughter and her family.
