Barbara Jean Armold, 84, of Greenfield, died Friday, February 4, at the White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born, March 20, 1937, to Roy and Edith Oster. She married Horace Armold, January 15, 1956, in Greenfield, and he preceded her in death in October, 1978.
Surviving are her children, Dan (Diana) Armold, Jim (Pam) Armold, Jean (Greg) Ditman, and Denise (Charlie) Crow, thirteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren, and her siblings Joyce Provenzano, Dave (Sue) Oster, and Mike (Kristy) Oster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son David and his wife Cheri, and two brothers, Jim Oster and Joe Oster.
Barb was a retired bus driver from the Greenfield School District. She was an avid Greenfield Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She enjoyed going to Danny O’Donnel shows in Branson every year. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Charity Southern Baptist Church. She got the most enjoyment watching her grandchildren grow and spending time with her children, siblings and friends. She loved her Lord, and wouldn’t turn down a strawberry daiquiri. We think He would approve.
A funeral service will be held Friday, at 11 am at the Charity Southern Baptist where visitation will be from 9 am until time of service. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Hospital, or the Charity Southern Baptist Church. The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home is assisting the family. Please leave a memory or online condolence at shields-bishopfh.com
