Billie Sue Muir, 75, of Rockbridge, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born December 26, 1941 in Mayfield, Ky. to Garland Stanford and Dorothy (Lancaster) Bell. They were later divorced and she was raised by Jack and Dorothy Crawford. She was married to Frank Lewis and after they divorced, he preceded her in death. She was then married to William Thomas Muir in Edmundson, Canada on August 5, 1982 and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters: Debbie Staten of Hawaii, and Theresa (Sam) Walden of Rockbridge, three sons: David Spoon of Rockbridge, James Spoon of Utah, and Danny (Beth) Lewis of White Hall, three brothers, James and Kenneth Crawford, and Ted Bell, a sister, Diana Terry, 10 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two sisters, Faye Friedlander and Peggy Goldsmith, and a brother Robert Crawford.
Billie worked as a waitress and was a passionate beautician. She later assisted her husband as an oil field consultant. She was an independent and fearless woman. She had a special passion for her dogs and cats. She loved being outdoors and doing yardwork.
Per her request, cremation rites will be accorded and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In her honor, memorials may be sent to P.A.W.S. in Jacksonville, IL.
