Brian R. Smith, 56, of rural Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, October 20 at his home. He was born January 21, 1964, in Jerseyville, to Burdette I. Smith, and Bertha (Snow) Schmidt.
He married Amy Chaudoin January 1, 2005 at the Athensville Baptist Church, and she survives. Also surviving are their children, Derek Smith of Carrollton, Darbey Jenkins of Greenfield, Aubrey Jenkins of Jacksonville, Carsan Smith of Greenfield, and grandson, Asah Jenkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bradley R. Smith.
Brian was a comedian who loved making his family and friends happy through laughter. He was an avid fisherman and loved nature and being outdoors. He particularly enjoyed watching and photographing wildlife. He was a jack of all trades and had a talent for repairing, creating, and designing anything he set his mind to. He especially loved spending time with his family. He will be missed.
Cremation rites will be accorded and no services are scheduled.
