Charles Kent Haven, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 4, at the home of his sister Sara in Godfrey, Ill. He was born July 23, 1955, in Carrolton, the son of Ralph W. and Mary (Thiebaud) Haven who preceded him in death.
Surviving are his siblings, Sara (Alan) Williams, Cheri Barrett, Craig Haven, and Mark (Sharri) Haven.
Kent grew up and graduated from high school in Las Vegas, NV., he attended college at Arizona State University where he obtained a degree in computer science. He spent his working years living in various towns in the Dallas area where he developed a love for Texas! In his retirement years he resided in Hubbard Tx, where he enjoyed working on various projects and making great friends. He had a love for restoring and working on cars and building things with his hands. He loved animals and worked with the National ASPCA. He was very quick witted and had a good sense of humor. He loved his family and will be missed by those who knew him.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and his cremated remains will be interred at the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Wrights in a private family service. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the ASPCA, and can be mailed to the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home, 604 Walnut Street, Greenfield, IL. 62044.
