Charles W. Plogger, age 81 of Greenfield, IL passed away peacefully Monday, September 30, 2024 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 29, 1943 in Greenfield, IL, the son of the late Lewis and Lena Davis Plogger.
He was a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran, having served for 20 years, and continued working as a civilian for 20 years; a member of Ash Avenue Church of God; an author of books and songs; an avid hunter and fisherman; and was known as a “MacGyver” of sorts.
He was a man of integrity and taught his sons a powerful work ethic. He helped anyone he could, was a jokester and a master storyteller.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn L. Plogger; and a son, David Lee Plogger.
Survivors include two sons, Charles “CJ” (Janeen) Plogger of Cameron, and Richard (LeeAnn) Plogger of Redlands, CA; grandchildren, Jonathan, Anna, Riley, Matthew and Eden; and a sister, Jane Jouett of IN.
Private services and internment will be held at the convenience of the family in Oak Wood Cemetery, Greenfield, IL.
