Claire Rebecca Portwood

Claire Rebecca Portwood, seven-month-old daughter of Jason and Breanna (Walden) Portwood of Carrollton, passed away June 29, 2021.  She was born November 16, 2020, in Springfield.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Rhett Portwood, paternal grandparents, Craig and Debbie Portwood of Carrollton, maternal grandma, Janis Walden of Rockbridge, maternal great-grandma, Rebecca Walden of Rockbridge, aunts and uncles, Tabitha (Cole) Thompson, Lauren (Brad) Nettles, Angie Ballard (Javier Castillo), and several cousins,  great aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandpa, Tim Walden, and great-grandparents Herman Walden, Rolland and Vera Roth, and Kenneth and Dorothy Portwood.

"Claire Bear" could light up a room with her smile, she brought great joy to anyone around her. Claire idolized her brother Rhett. She will be dearly missed by many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, July 3, at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton at 11:00 am.  Private family burial will follow at the church cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 8:30 am until time of mass at the church. Friends and Family are invited to the KC Hall in Carrollton for a meal following services.  Memorials are suggested to the family for Rhett's College Fund.
