Claudia Faye (Melvin) Sampson, 69, of Jacksonville, died Thursday, July 2, at Passavant Hospital. She was born September 5, 1950 in Carrollton, to Maurice J. and Georgia E. (Clark) Melvin. She married John G. Sampson April 10, 1985 in Springfield, and he survives.
Also surviving is a son, Roger Goeddey of Jacksonville, two sisters, Linda (Bob) Cox of Girard and Rhonda (Jerry) Walker of Greenfield and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother, Edward.
Claudia was a homemaker and loved her family. She showed this by making homemade greeting cards for family and friends for all occasions.
Private family services will be held, with burial at Oak Wood Cemetery.
A funeral procession will leave the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield at approximately 11:45 on Tuesday traveling east to highway 267 and then north to the cemetery. Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so by parking along the route.
