Dolores J. Nash, 88, of Greenfield, died Saturday, January 27 at Pleasant Hill Village Healthcare in Girard. She was born February 26, 1929 in Rockbridge Township to Byron and Wilma (Coates) Cox. She married James T. Nash June 5, 1951 in Ayer, MA. He preceded her in death December 14, 2004.
Surviving is a son, Mark Nash of Springfield, a daughter, Sheila (Andrew) Aherin of Farmersville, four grandchildren, Dereck (Shelby) Nash of Omaha, NE, Jonathan Aherin of Atlanta, GA., Rachel Aherin of Brooklyn, NY., and Jessica Nash of Carlinville, three great-grandchildren, Brittain, Harper Jo, and Dawson, and a brother, Bobby (Linda) Cox of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Stacey Nash.
Mrs. Nash worked at the former Farmers State Bank and Nell Chevrolet, and owned and operated Nash Cleaners with her husband, all in Greenfield. She served as treasurer for the City of Greenfield for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Cremation rites will be accorded and visitation will be from 10 am until time of memorial service at noon Saturday, February 3, at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery North of Greenfield. Memorials are requested to the Pleasant Hill Village Residence in Girard. Online condolences can be left at shields-bishopfh.com
