Donna F. (McMahan) Coonrod

Donna F. Coonrod, 89, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab.  She was born March 25, 1936, in White Hall to Clyde T. and Florence Elva (Lemon) McMahan.  She married Curtis L. Coonrod June 27, 1954, at the Barrow Baptist Church, and he preceded her in death April 23, 2002.

Surviving are her daughters, Diana (Mike) Spradlin of Jacksonville, Debbie (Curt) Huff of Carlinville, Doris (Mike) Cunningham of Carrollton, and Donna J. (Kent) Harrop of Moro, her son Curtis C. (Dianne) Coonrod of St. Louis, her grandchildren, Aaron, Bryan, Matthew, Amy, and Heather, 37 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, and one sister, Doris Oswald.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Joshua, and her brother Ray McMahan.

Donna drove a bus for the Greenfield School District until 1982.  She was homemaker, and her life was spent being a wonderful mother to her children and was known as “Mom Coonrod” to many outside her immediate family.  She loved, was loved by many, and will be missed by many.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 10 am until 1 pm at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield, where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm.  Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield.  Memorials are requested to the Oak Wood Cemetery or the Williams-Edwards Cemetery near Barrow and can be mailed to the funeral home at 604 Walnut St., Greenfield, IL. 62044.
