Dorothy J. Allen

Dorothy J. Allen, 95, passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Jerseyville Manor.  She was born December 31, 1926, in Springfield, to Otis and Ethel (Young) Woods.  She married Herschel Gene Allen in 1951, and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1982.  

She is survived by her sons, Gary and Bruce, daughters, Dawn and Starr, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son. 

Dorothy was a homemaker. 

Cremation rites were accorded, and private, family interment was at Oak Wood Cemetery near Greenfield. The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
