Elizabeth "LIbby" (Knisley) Ballard

 Elizabeth M. "Libby" Ballard, 96, formerly of rural Carrollton, died Tuesday, March 27, at White Hall Nursing & Rehab Center.  She was born October 13, 1921 in Alexander, IL to Charles and Rosa Etta (Andrews) Knisley.  She married Thomas Ballard March 23, 1940 in Hannibal, Mo. and he preceded her in death September 12, 2006.
     Surviving are two daughters, Eva (Lewis) McClenning of White Hall and Linda Kay (Gary) Motley of Hettick, three sons, Larry Joe (Bonnie) Ballard, Don Ballard, and Kirby (Peggy) Ballard all of Carrollton, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, four brothers, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great-great-grandchild.
   Libby was a homemaker and caregiver for those in need.  She was a 1939 graduate of Greenfield High School and was very active in her children's sports and school activities.
     A funeral will be held Saturday, March 31 at 11 am at the Greenfield United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at the church.   Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield.   Memorials are suggested to the Boyd Hospital Foundation or the Greene County Health Department.  Online condolences can be left at shields-bishopfh.com.
