Emma Goode Obituary

Emma Eileen (Stuart) Goode, died Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.  She was born June 25, 1944, in Greene County to Archie David and Freda Adaline (Walker) Stuart.  She married Richard Carroll Goode, April 28, 1963, at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, and he survives.  

Also surviving is her son, Richard Daniel (Tina) Goode of Greenfield, her son-in-law Larry Irlam of Jacksonville, her grandchildren, Justin (Michaela) Goode, Travis (Karson) Goode both of Greenfield, and Makayla Irlam of Jacksonville, her great-grandchildren, Adelyn Goode, Hudson Goode, and Miller Goode, and her siblings, Jimmie (Susie) Stuart of Roodhouse, Betty Gaige of Jacksonville, Ronnie (Marie) Stuart of Carrollton, and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Janet Kay (Goode) Irlam, and her sister, Kay (Stuart) Elliott.

Eileen served as the Rubicon Township Supervisor and Clerk and was active in the Union Hall Ladies Club.  She spent most of her days as a farm wife, raising her children, following their activities, and helping with the operations of the farm. 

A funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church north of Greenfield.  A visitation will be held from 4 until 7 pm on Thursday evening at the church.  Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Union Cemetery.  The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield is assisting the family with services.  Please leave a memory or condolence at shields-bishopfh.com
