He adored his grandchildren: Tyler (Kiana), Jordan (Carly), Karley (Lucas), Hannah (Eric), Haley (Cory), Nicholas, Maddie, Tucker, Luke, Brayden, Libby, Sophie, J. D., April, Holly, Kristin, Katelyn, Keeley, Brandon, Jake and Gracie. and great-grandchildren:  Reese, Mason, Grayson, Emma, Brantley, Brooks, Damian and Colson and they survive.  Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Sharon White and nephew, Jimmy (Jamie) White along with many other brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces.  Garry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Larry White and three infant grandchildren.

After graduating from Greenfield High School, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was employed at IPLA for 32 years.  He later retired from Greene County Rural Water and enjoyed taking care of the campgrounds at Greenfield Rives Lake where he made many good friends.  Garry followed God’s lead and founded Top of the Hill Ministries where he led and encouraged many in their walk with God.  He influenced many athletes for 33 years in the community through coaching baseball, basketball, football and trapshooting.  He would share many stories of how he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.  He was a great inspiration to his wife, kids, grandkids and all were blessed to know him.

At his request, cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 9, from 9 am until time of the memorial service at 12 pm at the Greenfield Elementary School Gymnasium. Please enter the front east doors if you plan to attend.
