Helen Meneley, 91, of the White Hall Nursing Home, formerly of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017. She was born March 22, 1926, to Arthur and Pansy (Cox) Ruyle in Calhoun County. She married Lawrence Settles, then later married Willard Meneley. Both preceded her in death.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Jackson, Nancy (Rut) Hillis, Marsha Settles, Ruthann Langley, Patsy (Ralph) Steward, and Kathy (Roger) Varble, sons, Denny Settles, Rick (Elsie) Settles and Terry (Deb) Settles. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, two sisters Roberta (Tom) Gibson and Alberta Preston. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Courtney Snyder, and Neta Brown and two brothers, Howard Ruyle and Arthur (RC) Ruyle.
Prior to retirement, Helen worked at the Brass Door Restaurant in Carrollton for over 20 years. She loved flower gardening, walking, and visiting with family and friends.
Per her request, cremation rites will be accorded, and a private family service will be held at a later date. Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences can be left at shields-bishopfh.com.
