James R. "Jim" Wells Jr.

James R. "Jim" Wells, Jr., 69 of Virden, Illinois passed away Monday March 29, 2021 while surrounded by family at his daughter's residence.  
Jim was born on May 2, 1951 in Springfield, IL, son of James R. And Leona (Devlin) Wells Sr. 
He joined the Army in 1968 and served in Germany and Vietnam.  He later worked in the trucking and service industries throughout his life. 
Surviving Jim are his daughters, Jamie L. (David) Rhodë of Pleasant Hill, IL; Amy L. (Matthew) Box of Hettick, IL; grandchildren Cadeyn, Sayden, Marissa, and Elaina; brother Mitchell (Patti) Wells of Springfield, IL, and brother-in-law Rickey Crays of Hettick, IL.  Preceding in death were his parents, step-mother Adena Wells, brother, Michael Wells and sister, Sharon K. Crays.  
 
A private graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois with full military rights and Pastor Nathan Williams officiating.  The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield is assisting the family with arrangements.   Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
