John B. Davidson, 65, of Greenfield, died Friday, March 4, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. He was born March 14, 1956, in Carrollton to John R. and Julia E. (Raines) Davidson. He married Linda Vice, on May 29, 1976, in White Hall, and she survives.
Also, surviving are his mother, Julia, children, Jennifer Cathers of Athensville, Jason (Melissa) Davidson of Morrisonville, and Kevin (Melissa) Davidson of Greenfield, seven grandchildren, Taylor Ann, Phillip, Courtney, Johnathan, Will, Autumn, and Lillian, three great-grandchildren, Sabastian, Ariel, and Wesley, siblings, Marsha (Ken) Hull, Malcolm (Laura) Davidson, Jenny Clough, Susan (Paul) Cressy, Jessica (Daniel) Henry, and Brennan (Carisa) Davidson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a son-in-law, Charles Cathers.
John was a master diesel mechanic for many years at AC Humko. He spent several years at the North Greene School District transportation department and the last two driving a school bus in the Greenfield School District. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, music, and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed texting trivia questions to his family.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 12, at 11 am, at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. Visitation will be from 9:30 am, until the time of service.
