Katherine L. "Kathy" (Taylor) Dalton

Katherine L. “Kathy” Dalton, 62, of Greenfield, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.  She was born October 24, 1959, in San Antonio, TX. To Gene and Jacqueline (Walsh) Taylor.  She married John “JD” Dalton, July 15, 2011 in Greenfield, and he survives.

Also surviving are her children, Kristie (Chris) Ornellas of Greenfield, Debbie (Danny) Piper of Chatham, Donnie Pruitt of Greenfield, and Jacob (Katie) Pruitt of Greenfield, her grandchildren, Kearsta Ornellas, Carlye Ornellas, Wyle Barrow, and Braylen Jackson, and her siblings, Elizabeth Becker of Wrights, Patty Taylor, Evonne Taylor, Gina Taylor, and Fred Mundon all of Greenfield.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy was the assistant manager at Shell.  She adored her kids and grandchildren, and attended all of their events.  She loved going for rides, and shopping with the girls, and “Buck”.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Cardinals, and St. Louis Blues fan.  She loved Sammy Hagar, Elvis Presley, going to rock concerts, and fishing with J.D.  She had a contagious smile, and a very generous heart, helping anyone in need.  She was called “Mom” by many outside her family. She will be missed by many.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 31, at 10 am, at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 pm Thursday, December 30 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow services at the Rose Hill Cemetery west of Greenfield.  Memorials are suggested to the Gospel Trekkers, or the ACTS program.
