Katherine J. “Kate” Rimbey, 71, of Mound Valley, Kansas passed away at 11:06 pm, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS. Kate was born July 1, 1946 in White Hall, Illinois to Evelyn Irene Looper. She grew up and attended school in White Hall. She moved to Kansas in 1984. On November 6, 1987 she married Dick Rimbey, in Miami, Oklahoma. They made their home in Mound Valley, Kansas. Kate worked at Western Publishing in Coffeyville, Kansas until its closing. She then went to Dwayne’s’ Photo in Parsons, Kansas. Until she retired. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church of Mound Valley. Kate loved her church, her pastor and the Lord!
Survivors include: Her husband Dick Rimbey of the home. One daughter Ronda Carroll, her husband Roger of South Coffeyville, Ok. 4 Step Children, Stacey Albers and her husband Doug of Beckmeyer, Ill. Brian Rimbey and his wife Yvette of Athensville, Ill. Anita Ross and her husband Terry of Carrollton, Ill. Nancy Vetter and her husband Jason of Greenfield, Ill. Two sisters, Frances Allen of Middletown, Ill and Vicky Allen of Waverly, Ill.
Together she and Dick had 14 grandchildren. Samantha Carroll of South Coffeyville, Ok. Shannon Camerer and spouse Joshua Wolken of Mound Valley, KS. Ashley Wiegmann and husband Travis of Carlyle, Ill. Justin Albers of Beckmeyer, Ill. Nick Rimbey and wife Jana of Carrollton, Ill. Cory Rimbey and wife Leslie of Carrollton, Ill. Bryan Brogdon of Jacksonville. Kayla Brogdon of Jacksonville. Brandon Ross and wife Jessica of Greenfield, Ill. Chelsea Ross of Shipman, Ill. Tyler Roberts of Carbondale, Ill. Hailey and Jessa Vetter of Greenfield, Ill. Chelsey Vetter of Jacksonville. Plus 11 Great Grandchildren.
She and Dick spent a lot of their retirement time with her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jim and Mildred Watts of Macon, MO.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, her step-father and one sister.
A memorial visitation was held at her church on Monday, April 30th

A memorial graveside service will be held Oak Wood cemetery north of Greenfield, Ill on Saturday the 23rd
