Lois Eileen Tuey

Lois Eileen Tuey, 84, of Springfield, died on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at St. John’s Hospital.

Lois was born March 18, 1936, in Greenfield, IL, the daughter of Clarence H. and Mary M. Elliott Tuey.

She graduated from Greenfield High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Passavant School of Nursing. Lois went on to receive her Masters of Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Florida. She was employed as a psychiatric nurse in CT, NC, and the Jacksonville Developmental Center. Lois enjoyed traveling, reading, collecting, listening to music, dining out, and watching movies.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Anna Mae Schmidt.

Lois is survived by her siblings, Donald Lee Tuey of Greenfield, Mildred Faye Tuey of Springfield, and James Tuey of Springfield; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Milo.

Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home—Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Additional Visitation: 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield.
