Marie L. “ReRe” Lansaw, 94, of Greenfield passed away Tuesday, October 22, at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville. She was born in rural Greenfield, May 28, 1930, to Elmer “Snick” and Rosa L. (Smith) Pembrook. She married William “Billy Bob” Lansaw August 18, 1949, in Carlinville, and he preceded her in death February 14, 1998.
Surviving are her children, Lea Seymour of Franklin, Rick R. (Toni) Lansaw and David L. Lansaw both of Greenfield, her grandchildren, Jeff (Susie) Lansaw, Camey (Daniel) Nord, Deanna Seymour, Darin Seymour, Dana (Dale) Bainter, Drew (Ashley) Lansaw, and Kate (Kyle) Owens, her great-grandchildren, Ben Nord, Nathan Nord, Catelyn Nord, Alex Lansaw, Eva Lansaw, Joey Lansaw, Margo Owens, James Owens, Emma Bainter, Ethan Bainter, Evan Bainter, and Everly Bainter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Jess Lansaw, a great-grandson, Nathaniel Nord, a daughter-in-law, Deloris Lansaw, and her sisters, Lola Mae Pembrook and Hazel Fern Pembrook.
ReRe spent a lifetime helping friends and family. In addition to raising her children and helping with grandchildren, she worked alongside her husband on the family farm for many years. She devoted much time to supporting the Union Fish Fry and enjoyed helping make the potato salad and donating many homemade pies. Her love of cooking was also evident in her cobblers, angel food cakes, Christmas cookies and noodles. She was a beautician and excellent seamstress. It was her love of the Lord and devotion to her church that brought her greatest joy. She served as song leader and was a Sunday School teacher at Charity Southern Baptist for many years. She also took part in many cantatas and was very active with WOM.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 26, at 11 am at the Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield. Visitation will be from 9 am until time of the service. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are requested to the Union Cemetery. Please leave a memory or condolence at shields-bishopfh.com.
