Marilyn was a 1957 graduate of Carrollton High School. She embraced the transition from being a Carrollton Hawk to being a true Tiger fan. She enjoyed watching the many activities of her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her entire married life, she was a true farmer’s wife. She cooked many meals for her hay crews and farm hands, took many meals to the fields, and hauled grain to the elevator. She loved gardening, sewing, and crafts. She enjoyed gathering with her “coffee club” girls, hosted many family gatherings and celebrations, and spent countless hours preparing food for others. She was actively involved in the Greenfield United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, set up communion, and served on several committees throughout the years.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, at the Greenfield Grace Methodist Church, from 4 until 7 pm where a funeral service will also be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to Boyd Hospital, or the Greenfield Grace Methodist Church.
