Marjorie Koehm, 97, of Greenfield, died Friday, January 6, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL. She was born December 5, 1925, near Greenfield, the daughter of Barney and Lavilla (Finney) Elmore. She married Wilfred Koehm September 6, 1952, at the Greenfield Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1994.
She is survived by nieces & nephews Ann Coates, Tom Coyne, Gregory Coyne, Sheri Koehm, Terri Koehm, and Gregory Koehm, great nieces and nephews, Ricky Coates, Kelly Martin, Braeden Coates., Aiden and Cameron Martin, and a very special friend, Goldie Roberts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Jeanne Coyne.
Marge was a registered nurse graduating from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO in 1946. She worked for St. Luke’s Hospital for several years before working as the Greenfield School District nurse for 33 years until her retirement.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 14, at 11:30 am at the Shields-Bishop funeral home in Greenfield. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of service. Memorials are suggested to the Greenfield United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Wrights. Please leave a memory or condolence at shields-bishopfh.com.
