Mark C. Tharp, 66, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his home in Greenfield. He was born January 16, 1960 in Alton, the son of John H. Tharp and Emma Harper. He married Judy Prather, June 10, 1978 at Kemper Baptist Church and she survives.
Also surviving are his mother, his son, Kyle Tharp of Greenfield, a sister, Kim Mcgilvrey, a brother, Tim (Robin) Tharp of Carlinville, his brothers-in-law, Mike, Don, and Kevin Prather of Kemper, his sisters-in-law, Susan (Dave) Hagen and Debbie (Pres) Haynes both of Medora, and Cindy Tharp of Bunker Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, and a brother, Dan Tharp.
Mark enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dogs, “Otis, Zoey, and Deebo.” He loved his family and will be missed by those that knew him.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
