Melba Love Robinson died peacefully at Life Care Center on Jan. 11th, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 90. Melba was born on June 9th, 1927 in Hettick , Illinois to Nile and Caroline Love. Her family later settled in Greenfield,Il. After high school she attended Blackburn College. She married Oral Richard Robinson on June 15th, 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12th 1983. Her husbands job with AT&T took them all over the United States. In 1965 they settled in Fountain, Colorado where she resided for 52 years. Melba was an accomplished master seamstress and enjoyed knitting caps for the newborns at Memorial Hospital. She was a home health care nurse. Melba was an active and dedicated member of the Fountain United Methodist Church. One of her passions was gardening and working in her yard. She was especially proud of her roses. Melba frequently travelled to Greenfield, Illinois to see her sister Mary Hammon and brother in law Dale. Melba is survived by Richard Robinson (Jennifer) of Fountain, grandson Joshua Hollis of Fountain, a grandson Lance Lovenstein and a great-grandson Justice Evan Hollis. She was preceded in death by her husband Oral Richard Robinson, a sister Mary Love Hammon, a half brother Elmer Love and a granddaughter Larissa Scheiss. Mother, Your love for us was a special gift, you gave so much so often. The beauty of your friendship could not be made, described, or measured, for it was a precious gift of the heart. Your incredible way of giving love in everything you did, makes your gift the best of all, the priceless gift of you. It is so very hard to say goodbye, we will cherish our memories of all the wonderful times we had, and with God as our strength now and always. This is our gift for you. The family would like to thank Life Care Center and all the staff. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial graveside service will be at Oak Wood Cemetery North of Greenfield,Ill at a later date.Memorials suggested to Pikes Peak Hospice.
