Michael Lewis "Moo Moo" Elliott, 69, of Chesterfield, passed away Wednesday, October 29, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton. He was born, March 15, 1956, in Carrollton, to Lewis and Carolyn (McClenning) Elliott. He married Doris Motley, July 10, 1976 in Rockbridge, and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Ryan (Becky) Elliott of Carlinville and Julie Elliott of Chesterfield, his grandchildren, Robert “Bob” Elliott, (Papa’s big buddy), Nick Bormida, and Brooke Greenwood, his siblings, Pat (Jim) Garner, Annie Snyder, Marilyn (Marvin) Bailey, Chris (Alma) Elliott and Cliff (Angie) Elliott, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, William Elliott, a niece, Amiee Lawson, and a nephew, Billy Bob Snyder.
Mike was a trucker by trade, and drove for Sonneborn Brothers Trucking. He loved telling a good trucker story. He loved his family and friends, especially spending time with his grandson.
A visitation will be held Monday, November 3, from 4 until 8 pm, at Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. Cremation rites will follow, and inurnment will be held at Witt Cemetery in Rockbridge at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Medora Ambulance and Fire Association.
