Mickey Walden, 67, of Rockbridge, died Monday, March 26, 2018 in Jacksonville. She was born January 6, 1951 in Carrollton to Arthur and Doris(Rimbey) Motley. She married Ernie Walden August 2, 1970 in Rockbridge, and he survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Katrina Walden of St. Louis, a son, Jeremy Walden of Lawrenceburg, Tn., three grandchildren, Jada Walden, Eric & Ethan Walden, two sisters, Doris(Mike) Elliott of Chesterfield, and Kim(Mark) Holman of Rockbridge, two brothers, Roy(Wanda) Motley of Rockbridge and Roger(Shirley) Motley of Godfrey, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Bobby Motley.
Mickey was a homemaker and the community babysitter where she cared for many children through the years. She was a member of the Rockbridge United Methodist Church and the former Flatlanders Black Powder Gun Club. She loved most of all helping others and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed Sunday meals when the family was together.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, from 4-8 pm, at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 30 at the church. Burial will follow at the Witt Cemetery in Rockbridge. Memorials are suggested to the Rockbridge or Greenfield United Methodist Churches.
