Mildred (Lyles) Thaxton

Mildred Thaxton, died July 11, 2007 at Jerseyville Community Hospital. She was 79.  She was born October 15, 1927, the daughter of Fountain and Alice Lyles.  She married James P. Thaxton in November of 1950.  

Surviving is one son, Mike (Linda) Thaxton of Florida, four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nola Mayberry, and a son, George P. Thaxton, two brothers; and two sisters.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was a member of the Pleasant Point Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thaxton's  body was donated to medical science in 2007 and cremation rites followed.  A memorial graveside service to inter her ashes will be held at noon,  Friday, June 15, at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield.
