Nadine (Long) Rhodes, 82, passed on peacefully, May 11, 2021 at Riverside Rehab in Alton. She was born November 22, 1938, to Avery David and Elsie Lee (Maberry) Long.
She grew up in Greenfield.
She is survived by two children, Debby (Newton) Gentelin of Greenfield and David Newton of Bethalto. She was a loving and caring grandmother to Deanna (Jeremy) Conrad of Greenfield, Damon Meyer of Jacksonville, and Kyle (Jennifer) Newton of Wood River. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Austin, Hailea, Sierra, Kayleigh, Nathan, and Vera, and one brother, Lonnie (Francis) Long of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by four half-sisters, Lela Mae Farmer, Marjorie Scott, Opal Meldi, and Clara Smith, and one brother Bud Olston.
Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded, and a private family graveside service will be held at Oak Wood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Foundation or Oak Wood Cemetery.
