Nickolas Lee Gray

Nickolas Lee Gray, 26, of Greenfield died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, Sunday, August 10, 2025.  He was born, July 17, 1999 in Scott Air Force Base, Illinois to Melissa J. and step-father Gary Lassiter and Douglas E. (step-mother Crystal Carl) Gray, and they survive.

Also surviving are his brother, Douglas G. Gray, his half-sister, Madison Gray, his “other mother” Donita “Dea” Tuey, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Tonya Gray, his maternal grandparents, Donald and Peg Tuey and his aunt, Tonia Tuey.

Nick had a big heart and an infectious smile that would light up a room. He loved spending time with his “Brotherhood of Buddies” hanging out, four-wheeling, or working on demo cars. He would never leave or let anyone leave without the expression “love ya, bye.”  He will be missed by all that knew him.

A visitation will be held Friday, August, 15, from 4 until 6 pm at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. No formal funeral service will be held.  Family and friends are welcome to attend.
