Norma L. Maple, 89, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, January 22 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Kahl) Gibson born July 19, 1930. She married Clarence Maple August 31, 1946 and he preceded her in death March 10, 1997.
Surviving is a daughter, Rose Mary (Robert) Rives of Greenfield, a grandson, Robert (Gina) Rives of Greenfield, a granddaughter, Colleen (Craig) Devore of Westfork, AR, four great-grandchildren and a brother, Wilbur D. Gibson of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Janice Faye Anderson, and a sister Doris McDaniels.
Norma worked in several places, but spent 21 years at Macmurray College in Jacksonville. She was a member of the Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield.
Memorials are suggested to the Charity Southern Baptist Church or BJC Hospice.
Private family services will be held. The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of arrangements.
