Ollie Lee “Bozo” Hamm, 73, of Greenfield, died Monday, February 26, at Liberty Village in Jerseyville. He was born September 12, 1950, one of fourteen children, to Alexander and Mary (Smith) Hamm. He married Sherry E. Henson, December 15, 1979, in Greenfield, and she preceded him in death June 9, 2018.
Surviving are his children, Denise (Tim) McCutcheon and Travis Hamm all of Greenfield, his grandsons, Cyrus and Brocke McCutcheon, his siblings, Martha, Helen, Walter, Brice, Charles, Donnie Wayne, and Bill, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, “Angel Baby” and siblings, Stella Marie, Mamie Lou, Clarence, Bert, Paul, and George.
Ollie was a member of the Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield where he and Sherry were one of the first couples to be married in the new building. He spent many years as a meat cutter for Diamond and Excel meat processing plants. He loved his family and loved to cook. He was a fan of the three stooges and loved watching professional wrestling with Travis.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 29, from 4 until 7 pm at the First Baptist Church north of Greenfield, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 1. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to the Special Olympics in Jacksonville, or the ACTS program in Greenfield.
