Roger Lynn Selman, 68, an Alabama native and resident of Newport, NC., died Friday, December 24, 2021 at his home. He was born March 16, 1953, in Opelika, AL. to Frank L. and Ethel L. (Rowan) Selman. He married Sherry Camden, November 20, 1976 at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, UT. She preceded him in death, July 26, 2011.
Surviving are two sisters, Spring (Gordon) Lindell, Sarrona (Brian) Wilson, three brothers, Frank B., Philip L. (Glenda), Samuel K. (Monica), a step-daughter, Tiffni R. (John) Long, and a step-grandson, Nathan C. Long.
He was preceded in death by a brother Robert R., and his parents.
Roger served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and continued as an aircraft mechanic for the military in civilian life.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 7, at 11 am, at the Carrollton City Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife, Sherry. The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield is assisting the family with arrangements. Please leave a memory or condolence at shields-bishopfh.com
