Roy William “Bill” Loy, 84, of Greenfield died Sunday, April 3, 2022 in White Hall. He was born January 3, 1938, in Rockbridge to Melvin J. and Geraldine (Tucker) Loy. He married Connie Gleason, February 15, 1958, in Carlinville, and she survives.
Also surviving are his children, Steve (Sharon) of Carrollton, Mark (Evelyn) of Chesterfield, Janet Hill of Athens, and Laura (Jeff) Anderson of Utica, and David (Angela) of Okawville, his grandchildren, Melissa (Matthew Campbell) Loy, Joshua (Nicola) Graham, Alayna Graham, Evan Loy, Aaron (Pam) Hill, Andrew (Kara) Hill, Aric Hill, and Jonah Loy, his great-grandchildren, Kinley and Paisley Osterman, Caius, Isaac, and Ellis Graham, Aliza and Brielle Hill, and Raigen and Kennan Hill, and his sister, Melva Gunning.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim.
Bill was a member of the Bethlehem Tabernacle Church in Greenfield. He farmed, drove a truck for ADM, and enjoyed his days working for the Greenfield School District.
A funeral will be held at 12 pm, Friday, April 8, at the Bethlehem Tabernacle Church, in Greenfield.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to the Bethlehem Tabernacle Church or the Greenfield Foundation for Excellence in Education. The Shields-Bishop Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
