Ruby H. Heavner, 72, formerly of Rockbridge, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born August 26, 1946 in Springfield to Frank and Josephine (Brown) Walden. She married Estill L. Heavner November 18, 1968 in Gatlinburg, TN. and he survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Paula (Jason) Miller of Medora, two sons, Billy (Diann) and Chris (Krista) both of Rockbridge, five grandchildren, Nathan (Lindsey) and Justin Miller, Katelyn, Alexa and Laiken, three great-grandchildren, Addy, Alec, and Aubrey, three sisters, Mary Withrow of Las Vegas, Ruth Withrow of Carrollton, and Brenda (Jack) Blasko of Petersburg, two brothers David (Shirley) Walden of Jacksonville and Sam Walden of Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Megan Leann and a brother Pete Walden.
Ruby was a 1964 graduate of Greenfield High School. She was a homemaker and beautician, she loved her basset hounds and playing bingo.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, from 9 am until time of funeral service at 11 am at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow at the Keller cemetery near Chesterfield. Memorials are requested to the Memory Unit at the White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center.
