Thomas R. "Tom" Loy

Thomas Russell Loy of Greenfield passed away Sunday April 16, 2023 at the Jacksonville Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was born August 8, 1949 in Carlinville, Illinois.

Tom is survived by his son Bryan Loy and two granddaughters Naomi & Demi of Springfield. Bryan’s mother, Diana Martin of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Retha & Homer Loy, a sister Peggy Tuey, and brothers, Richard & Dennis Loy.

Tom worked for the railroad for many years. He was an avid horseman. He loved horse sales and horse races, looking forward to attending as many races as he could with his son. He struggled with kidney disease and was on dialysis for over 10 years but faithfully made the trip to Jacksonville 3 days/week without complaint.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a private family interment will be held at Oak Wood cemetery at a later date.
