Valorie Mae Ross, 86, of Greenfield, died Saturday, March 11, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born August 12, 1936, in Sikeston, MO. to Joe and Edna (Hope) Adams. She married Billy Joe Ross November 2, 1952, and he preceded her in death May 30, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin (Karla) Ross of Pearl City, IL., and Kelly (Dani) Ross of Greenfield, two daughters, Norma Tucker of Cottage Hills, and Deborah (Scott) Boston of Greenfield, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Paul (Millie) of McKinney, TX., Leland (Betty) of Carbondale, and Gary (Ellen) of Blue Springs, MO. and two sisters, Faye (W.C.) Sifford of Choctaw, OK, and Judi (Randy) Bess of Dexter, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law David Tucker, and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Norma Adams.
She retired from Hertzberg Book Bindery. She was a member of Charity Southern Baptist Church, enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals play, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Thursday, March 16, at 11 am, at the Charity Southern Baptist Church in Greenfield. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm Wednesday, at the church. Burial will follow services at Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are suggested to the Charity Southern Baptist Church. The Shields-Bishop funeral home is assisting the family.
