William Jack Orr, 73, of Greenfield, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his home. He was born in Virden, May 21, 1945, to Glenn M. and Grace E. (Brooks) Orr. He married Marcia Mann, October 24, 1964 in Fayette, and she survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jacky (Doug) Holler of Murrayville, two sons, Billy of Greenfield and Rob (Susan) of Jacksonville, 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, a sister Shirley (Richard) Kansteiner of Quincy, four brothers, Glenn of Florida, Carl (Myra) of Springfield, Jim (Sue) of Palmyra and Don of Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Anita, a sister Colleen Lancaster, and a brother, Eugene.
Bill was a crane operator for the Olin Corporation in East Alton for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, cards, puzzles and painting. He enjoyed most in life, spending time with his family.
A funeral will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 pm Tuesday, May 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hickory Grove Cemetery near Wrights. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
