William S. Seaton, 83, of Greenfield, went to be with Jesus on February 21, 2018 from his son’s home in rural Greenfield. He was born October 5, 1934 in Atwater, IL to Loarn and Anita (Stewart) Seaton. He married Betty L. Jones on July 26, 1953 and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2014. He then married Hazel Frank August 8, 2015, and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Laniece (Donnie) Vahle of Jerseyville, Anita (Shane) Larson of Hanover, and Sarah (Marty) Gross of Carrollton, six sons, Stephen (Martha) of Newburn, Tn. Stewart (Suzan) of Greenfield, Stanley of Crest Hill, IL., Samuel (Khristi) of Scottville, Sterling (Tracey) of Roodhouse, and Shannon (Brenda) of Greenfield, grandchildren, Stewart C., Alyssa, Austin, Chelsey, Shannon Jr., William, Leanda, Jake, Stephen, Amanda, Suzy (Andrew) Kilcollins, Keven, and Katrina, and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also, two sisters, Pearl (Harold) Huston and Pauline Caudle survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter, Susan, infant granddaughter, Patrice, brothers Wayne, Herb, and Bob, and a sister Virginia.
Bill was a hard worker his whole life, always with a smile to share. He was a self-employed truck driver and worked several years in the fertilizer industry. He attended Bethlehem Tabernacle Church in Greenfield and enjoyed his family.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 25 at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield from 2 until 6 pm. Funeral will be Monday February 26, at 10:30 am, at the First Baptist Church north of Greenfield. Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield. Memorials are requested to the BJC Hospice or the Bethlehem Tabernacle Church. Online condolences can be left at shields-bishopfh.com
